A former House of Assembly aspirant in Ogun State, Hon. Akeem Oluseye has appealed to Nigerian youths to reconsider their decision to stage a nationwide protest against bad governance and hunger.

Oluseye, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Abeokuta North Local Government advised the youths to explore dialogue as a more effective and peaceful means of addressing their grievances, rather than taking to the streets in protest.

This was contained in a statement made available to Journalists in Abeokuta, on Friday.

Oluseye emphasised that dialogue and constructive engagement with stakeholders are more effective ways to bring about positive change.

He said “I understand the frustrations and concerns of the Nigerian youths, but I strongly believe that protest is not the best way to go about it.

“We will recall that the country yet to heal from the destructions recorded during the 2020 #Endsars protest across the country.

“Protests can easily snowball into riots, leading to the destruction of national assets and putting the nation at large in jeopardy.

“Let us seek to engage our leaders in a peaceful and respectful manner, rather than resorting to protests that can lead to chaos and destruction.

The IT expert also noted that protests can have unintended consequences, including loss of lives and property, and urged the youths to consider the long-term effects of their actions.

“I urge the Nigerian youths to think about the future and the kind of country they want to build. Let us work together to create a better Nigeria, but let us do it in a peaceful and constructive manner,” Oluseye said.

Oluseye’s appeal comes as Nigerian youths are planning a nationwide protest against bad governance and hunger, citing the country’s economic challenges and perceived government inaction.
