Tragedy struck in the family of the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Patrick Abba Moro, as a result of the painful loss of his son and grandson within 48 hours to motoring accidents.
Findings revealed that Senator Moro’s son, Victor, who had recently completed his studies in Turkey, returned to Nigeria to participate in the National Youth Service Corps programme.
Sadly, his life was cut short in a fatal motor accident along the Mararaba axis in Nasarawa State, barely 24 hours after the burial of his father’s grandson.
The younger Moro had reportedly travelled from his family home to attend to personal matters when the accident occurred.
The incident has thrown the lawmaker’s family and close associates into deep mourning, with many describing the loss as a double tragedy.
The former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki who mourned with the family of Senator Moro over the demise of their son and grandson.
To lose a grandson, and then, only days later, a son, is a pain no family should ever have to bear.
Saraki said, ” This double bereavement is a deeply difficult moment for the Senate Minority Leader, Distinguished Senator Abba Moro, his wife, and their family.
“Toyin and I extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences, and pray that the Almighty will strengthen them, comfort them, and surround them with His peace through this very dark season.”
