Former Assistant Secretary General of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone D, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, popularly known as BILLIONCODES, has declared his intention to contest the as the Coordinator of the zone in the forthcoming convention.
In a statement personally signed by him, Billioncodes stressed that his ambition is not born out of personal ambition alone, but from a growing conviction that ‘our strength as a zone lies in our ability to come together, rise above divisions, and work as one family for the good of Nigerian students.’
A copy of the statement obtained by BEYOND AFRICA read: “I, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, popularly known as *(BILLIONCODES)*, hereby formally declare my intention to contest for the office of *COORDINATOR*, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D. This declaration is anchored on a deep and sincere commitment to unity, collective progress, and the enduring ideals of student unionism. It is not born out of personal ambition alone, but from a growing conviction that our strength as a zone lies in our ability to come together, rise above divisions, and work as one family for the good of Nigerian students.
“In recent times, my aspiration through wide consultations, bridge-building, and honest engagement has helped restore dialogue and understanding among stakeholders who were once divided by ideology, history, and rivalry. Former lines of hostility have given way to conversation; old differences have been replaced with shared purposes. This emerging unity is a powerful reminder that when leadership is driven by sincerity, humility, and common interest, progress becomes inevitable.
“Having had the honour to serve as Assistant General Secretary of NANS Southwest, I have worked from within the system, engaging student leaders across campuses and states, coordinating administrative processes, and representing our zone in key engagements. These experiences have deepened my understanding of our structure and reinforced my belief that inclusive leadership one that listens, consults, and unites is the pathway to lasting stability and growth.
“Beyond official responsibilities, I have remained committed to student empowerment and capacity development, particularly through the *BILLIONCODES INITIATIVE PROGRAMME,* which focuses on digital skills, academic support, and value-driven leadership development. These initiatives reflect my conviction that unity must be matched with empowerment and that a united student movement must also be equipped for relevance in today’s evolving academic and professional environment.
“As I seek the office of *COORDINATOR*, my vision is to consolidate this renewed unity and translate it into purposeful governance. I envision a NANS Southwest that is cohesive, disciplined, responsive, and respected a zone where no state, institution, or tendency is alienated; where welfare is protected; and where our collective voice speaks with clarity and authority at all levels.
“This declaration is therefore a call for consolidation, not contestation; for collaboration, not confrontation. I offer myself to serve with humility, experience, innovation, and an unshakable commitment to unity. Together, we can build a Southwest student movement that is stronger than its past divisions and greater than individual interests.
I am ready to serve.
