The leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) led by the Comr. Olushola Oladoja unequivocally condemns the illegal burglary and outright theft perpetrated by officers of the Nigerian Air Force in Osogbo.

Following a clash between certain individuals in Osogbo, one of the parties unlawfully enlisted the intervention of Air Force personnel. Rather than act within the bounds of professionalism and constitutional responsibility, the officers stormed the residence of one of the citizens involved, forcefully broke into the house, and carted away valuable properties including a motorcycle, laptop, iPhone, CCTV devices, and other essential personal belongings.

This act constitutes a gross abuse of power, a brazen violation of citizens’ rights, and a complete deviation from the constitutional duty of security agencies, which is to protect lives and property; not to violate, intimidate, and dispossess innocent Nigerians.

It is both disturbing and unacceptable that officers entrusted with national security would descend to the level of common criminals by engaging in acts of burglary and theft.

Efforts made by the National Leadership of NANS to secure the immediate release of the stolen items have been deliberately frustrated.

Consequently, NANS hereby issues a firm 24-hour ultimatum to the Nigerian Air Force Research and Development Institute, Osogbo, to return all stolen items to their rightful owner without further delay.

Failure to comply within this stipulated period will compel NANS to mobilize Nigerian students and well-meaning citizens for a peaceful but massive protest in Osogbo, one that will firmly demand accountability, justice, and an end to impunity.

NANS will not stand idly by while citizens are oppressed by those sworn to protect them.

Signed:
Comrade Oluwole Olatunde Aboke
Deputy Chief of Staff II to the NANS National President.
