The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a woman for allegedly stabling a 16-year-old boy multiple times in Amosu Street, Ijegun, Alimosho Local Government Area of the state.

BEYOND AFRICA gathered that the incident occurred on Thursday evening.

Images shared by an X user, Febechi, The PinkPrint (@Febsbaby_), showed three cuts on the right side of the boy’s face, including one near his eye.

Three deep wounds were also seen on the right side of his chest near the shoulder and another on his forearm, with blood visible across his body.

Under the tweet, the Lagos State Police Command and the State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency commented on the posts, asking the user to check her direct messages.

Febechi explained in a series of tweets that the suspect attacked the teenager and his mother during a confrontation after the boy tried to correct the suspect’s child.

She said the boy was taken to an undisclosed hospital, where he remained overnight receiving treatment following the incident.

“I am heateddd!!! A grown woman stabbed my 16 y/o brother in multiple places because he tried to correct her child, then stabbed his mum when she tried to confront her. Please, I need help getting justice for him. Who do I tag aside from @PoliceNG and @Lagosdsva?” she wrote.

Febechi also expressed concern over the initial response from the police unit in the community, “Apparently, the police unit in their area said they can’t make arrests this evening, until tomorrow morning. Why would someone stab you when confronting a child? Wetin do cane or koboko?”

Febechi questioned the alleged use of violence, noting that discipline could have been carried out without resorting to stabbing.

She added that the boy’s parents and family members had resolved to pursue justice through lawful means.

“Who knows if she’ll run away tonight?! I am so pissed that I can’t do anything, omg. If you can help, please reach out to me. Sorry for the confusion—I should have been more concise with the language. He’s my younger cousin, a child of one of my older cousins—it’s more complex explaining this way, so ‘brother’ is simpler. He’s a quiet, gentle boy. He no sabi street way at all.

“Viewers’ discretion advised!! See what she did to this boy!! All he did was tell her child to go inside because the child played outside for too long. Next thing, she starts attacking him, asking why he was talking to her child.

“They’re neighbors, and he’s basically a child too. He was just looking out for the smaller kids like a bigger sibling would. I wish he had left her child and focused on his own siblings. My older family members and the boy’s parents want to handle this legally,” she wrote.

The Lagos State Police Command confirmed that the suspect had been arrested and the boy was receiving treatment.

“The post was engaged, and they were advised to report at the nearest police station, which they did. The boy is receiving treatment at the hospital, and the suspect is presently in police custody,” the police said.

Efforts to obtain comments from the Lagos DSVA were unsuccessful, as calls to its official line and messages sent to its X handle (@Lagosdsva) were not returned at the time of filing this report.

Several X users reacted to Febechi’s post, expressing concern for the boy’s wellbeing and recovery, offering sympathy and wishing him a full and speedy recovery.
