Ogun state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has announced that cargo operations at the Gateway International Airport in Ogun State are expected to begin within 30 to 45 days.

During an inspection of the Industrial Platform at the Remo Free Trade Zone, the Governor revealed that the first cargo aircraft from Europe is scheduled to land soon.

He also highlighted the completion of a strategic access road linking the Sagamu–Benin Expressway directly to the airport, designed to meet global standards for efficient logistics and transport.

The project, part of a Special Agro-Processing Zone (SAPZ) developed in partnership with Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms, aims to transform Ogun State into a premier export hub.

Governor Abiodun noted that the zone will feature an integrated ecosystem with its own power supply and waste management, hosting what is expected to be the world’s largest cotton garment processing factory.

He credited the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Ministries of Agriculture and Industry for enabling these transformative macroeconomic developments.
