A house of representatives aspirant in Remo Federal Constituency, Agbaakin(Barrister) Olayinka Ganiu Odufuwa, popularly known as Ogo Remo has said that is he is coming on board to make a difference if given the opportunity to represent his people at the National Assembly.
Ogo Remo who has been in politics since the days of Social Democratic Party,SDP and Hope 93 in Lagos State has contested the position twice, 2007 on the platform of AC and 2015 on the platform of APC as the party flag bearer.
He said he is contesting house of representatives seat because of the decay in the system, promising to put an end to it.
Barrister Olayinka while addressing journalists on Monday said he has what it takes to become the next APC candidate for Remo Federal House of Representatives for 2027.
He said he believes the party will find him worthy of that position to represent my prople at the NASS, saying that it is their turn to produce the next candidate for Sagamu/Ikenne/ Remo North Federal Constituency and Ogo Remo is the ideal and most qualified candidate.
The aspirant then promised to provide leadership for teeming youths, give back to the society and empower youths, elderly ones and women as to put food on their tables.
He maintained that as a lawyer, he understands the essence of making laws that will have good impact in the lives of the people, promising to make good laws for the development of his constituency and Ogun State generally.
Ogo Remo said” I am contesting to provide leadership for our teeming youths. Give back to the society what i have received from the society and give empowerment to the down trodden, women, the elderly and the vulnurables. This apart from my primary duty as a legislator to make good laws for the development of our country.
“When you look at where i am coming from, my antecedents politically and qualifications, no doubt i have what it takes to become the next APC candidate for Remo Federal House of Representatives for 2027. But its only God that crown a king. I pray that our party find me worthy of that position to represent my prople at the NASS. My constituency, Offin Sagamu with the largest voting population in Remo Federal Constituency has not produced a member of House of Representatives for Remo, yet we have enthroned others. I think its our turn to produce the next candidate for Sagamu/Ikenne/ Remo North Federal Constituency and Ogo Remo is the ideal and most qualified candidate.
“Dont forget that, i am a lawyer and the duty of the legislature is to make laws. We need to make some laws that will instill some discipline and give our institution power to function properly. I have realised that part of our problems is impunity to make laws. We need to provide for our youths not all of them will get white colar jobs but we need to empower them, put food on the tables for them so that they will not be thugs or threat to the nation and that is why i am coming on board, if given the opportunity to represent the people of Remo Federal Constituency, i will ensure i take it upon my self in ensuring i put smiles on the faces of our youths and let me tell not only youths, the elderly ones, the women, we will support their businesses and the vulnurables will also be taken care of. I have clear vision towards the development of Remo Federal Constituency”
“My approach will be different, and don’t forget my background as a legal practitioner. I intend to leverage on my experience as a lawyer and some one who have served at the higest level in executive position, and who has not been found wanting by the people. I will deliver and ensure i provide dividends of democracy to our people”
He commended curren administration led by Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun, saying that he has been an outstanding governor.
The APC Chieftain added that governor Abiodun is committed to the progress and development of the State.
Ogo Remo informed that all projects done by Abiodun are people-oriented.
“Each governor has his own style and peculiarities, I have said it in one of my interviews that what project Governor has started, he has ensured that such project is completed within the time frame allocated for it. He has done well in terms of infrastructural development, and he will leave the state better than he met it. He has succeded in changing the narratives of the state positively and turned Ogun State to an industrial state”
Ogo Remo was once a Senior Special Assistant to the governor of Ogun State on Forestery during Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, Special Adviser to governor on Agriculture and forestry during the same regime and Senior Consultant to Governor Dapo Abiodun during his first term.
