The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ogun State, Hon. Akeem Oluseye appealed to the residents of Abeokuta and other road users plying the Abeokuta-Ota road to bear with the state government due to the ongoing construction.
Recall that the Ogun State government has taken over the project from the federal government and is working to complete it in 18 months.
Construction work is ongoing with the section between Abeokuta and Papalanto almost completed. But road users have been facing heavy traffic since the beginning of the constitution..
Oluseye in a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Tuesday, urged motorists to be patient with the government as the project when completed will enhance economic growth, ease of movement of goods and people, and enhance the daily lives of the people of Ogun.
“I want to appeal to our people, especially in Abeokuta and other road users, to please bear with the state government. This is an important project that would boost the economic activities of the state and improve residents’ lives.
“All road users should be patient and cautious so as to avoid congestion within this period. I must also commend our amiable governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for taking up the project. It shows he is a listening governor. I urge the people of the state to continue supporting him,” the statement concluded.
