The All Progressives Congress has announced the postponement of the 2024 elective congresses scheduled to take place in Rivers State from October 26.
The National Publicity Secretary of APC, Felix Morka, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja, on Tuesday, titled “APC Rivers State chapter congresses postponed.”
Morka, however, failed to state the new dates the party planned to reschedule the congresses.
He said, “The All Progressives Congress, Rivers State chapter’s elective congresses earlier scheduled for 26th October 2024 (ward congress), 2nd November 2024 (LGA congress) and 9th November 2024 (state congress) have been postponed.
“New dates for the congresses will be announced in due course.”
The development comes three weeks after the APC released the official schedule of activities and timetable for the elective congresses.
In the previous statement, the ruling party announced that aspirants for the chairmanship and vice chairmanship positions are to pick up the nomination and expression of interest forms for N3m and N2.5m, respectively.
In the category of local government chairmanship, the form would sell for N100,000.
