Barcelona have renewed their interest in Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen and are preparing a fresh summer move for the Galatasaray striker as they plan for life after Robert Lewandowski.

The Catalan giants see Osimhen as an ideal long-term replacement for Lewandowski, whose responsibilities in the squad are gradually being reduced.

Reports from Spain, via Haberlisin, suggest Barcelona’s recruitment team believe Osimhen fits the profile required for the next phase of the club’s rebuild.

Osimhen has established himself as one of Europe’s most reliable goal scorers since the 2022/23 season, when he guided Napoli to the Serie A title and finished as the club’s leading scorer. His pace, physical presence and clinical finishing have continued to draw attention from elite clubs across the continent.

However, Galatasaray are reluctant to part with their star forward. The Turkish champions are enjoying a strong domestic campaign, with Osimhen playing a central role in their success.

Club officials are reportedly keen to keep the 27-year-old at the heart of their project for at least another season, despite growing interest from Barcelona and Juventus.

Even so, Galatasaray are understood to have set an informal valuation in case of serious bids. The Turkish giants are believed to be willing to open negotiations at around €80 million, a fee that would represent a profit on the €75 million they paid to secure his permanent move from Napoli earlier this season.

The Nigerian forward continues to justify the growing hype around him. After recording 37 goals and seven assists last season, he has maintained his prolific form in the current campaign, despite missing time due to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where he helped Nigeria finish in third place.

Osimhen remains under contract with Galatasaray until 2029, giving the club a strong negotiating position but also the flexibility to consider a deal if a compelling offer arrives.
