The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Osun State Command, led by the State Commander, CN Oluwarotimi Lawal Adetula, has solicited the collaboration of traditional rulers in the state to combat drug abuse.
This is in a bid to curb the menace of drug abuse in the state.
Adetula during a working visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi on Wednesday sought the monarch’s support and spiritual blessings in the fight against drug abuse.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Esther Fadare ASN1, the visit was also geared towards the upcoming United Nations International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
In his remark, the Ooni promised to assist the agency in any capacity possible, with the goal of making Osun State and other parts of the country drug-free.
The commander concluded by informing the monarch of a week-long program of activities lined up for the United Nations drug-free day, which is celebrated globally on every 26th day of June. This year’s theme is “Breaking the chain; Prevention, Treatment and Recovery for all”
