Former Secretary General of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS South-west, Comrade Dennis Nwenonye has been elected as the Vice president (South-south) of the Association of Water Well Drilling Rig Owners and Practitioners (AWDROP).
The election which was held at Royal Choice Hall, Abuja had in attendance members who are borehole professionals from across the country.
Dennis, in his appreciation message, appreciated the immediate past president, Engr. Micheal Oludare Ale for his meritorious service to the Association.
He said: “I want to specially appreciate our immediate past President Engr Oludare Micheal Ale for his meritorious service to our dear association and to the water sector in general.
“I also want to congratulate our new President Prof. Ipoola Okunlola who is a Professor of Hydrogeology for over 42years.
“I call on all borehole Drilling practitioners within the south south region to join Awdrop to promote the advancement of our noble profession; Borehole Drilling, to standardize our profession and ensure the implementation of the Borehole Drilling code of practice at all times.
“I also call on Government at all levels within the South South region to begin the immediate implementation of the resolutions of the Code of Practice and water council meeting 2013.
“AWDROP will continue to advocate for policies that will ensure the availability of portable water at all times and everywhere.”
