A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo has this Thursday remanded in Ile-Ife Prison a notorious PDP thug and an appointee of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Olalekan Ajagungbade, otherwise known as Emir.

Emir, who is facing charges bordering on murder, kidnapping and armed robbery, is to be re-arraigned March 5 for continuation of his case.

Before his arrest last year by a special intelligence team from the Police Headquarters Abuja, Emir Ajagungbade who though had been on the Wanted List of the Nigeria Police, Osun State Command, was a hard-nut to crack because of what many described as his close relationship with the state governor and other influential political figures in the state.

The leading opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC) had severally in the past accused Governor Adeleke of harbouring the suspect and other wanted criminals in his residence in Ede, a ploy they said was designed to shield them from police arrest.
