The University Librarian, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Dr. Olukemi Fadehan has showed encomium of praise on the leadership of Kings University, Ode-Omu for drawing a road map for the realization of AI agenda.

 

She said this while delivering a lecture on ‘ Ethical Consideration for AI in Higher Education (ensuring fairness and transparency)’ at a Symposium with the *THEME: ” TOWARDS THE ETHICAL USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) WITHIN THE ACADEMIC COMMUNITY”* organized by The Directorate of Advancement, Research, Linkages and Collaborations(ARL&C) Kings University, Ode-Omu, Osun State.

” AI is beneficial to tertiary institutions in enhancement of personalized learning, educational decision making, automation of administrative tasks like grading and lesson planning, use in learning management system among others. ” said Dr. Fadehan.

 

In his own lecture on ‘Global Ethical Concerns of AI’ ,The HOD, Informations Systems and Technology, Kings University, Dr. Olaniyi Ayeni highlighted some ethical concerns of AI that demands careful consideration.

” In addressing key ethical concerns, we need to develop ethical guidelines and regulations, promote transparency and explainability, address bias in data and algorithms, protect privacy and security.”

In his conclusion, Dr. Ayeni emphasis the need for AI to align with human values, only then will the society be a better place for everyone to live.

While speaking on ‘ Promoting AI for Advancing the Course of Humanity’ , a lecturer from Abiola Ajimobi Technical University, Engr. Omoyele Alex Mowemi said AI has come to stay.

” AI helps in healthcare by improving diagnosis and treatment, it helps in education, transforming transportation and infrastructure.”

 

” As AI continues to evolve, it will likely play an even greater role in shaping our lives, businesses and society.” Concluded Engr. Omoyele.

Present at the Symposium were the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Kuku and other members of the University Management Team, staff, students and guests from other universities.
