A 48-year-old man, Mohammed Isiaka, was on Friday remanded by an Ogudu Magistrate’s Court for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl.
The defendant was remanded in Kirikiri custodial facility by magistrate M.O. Tanimola
pending advice from the state director of public prosecutions.
The court did not take the plea of the defendant and adjourned the case until March 1 for mention.
Inspector Donjour Perezi, police prosecutor, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 25, on Adebimpe Street, Kosofe, Mile 12, Ketu, Lagos State.
According to Perezi, the defendant defiled the toddler by using his finger to penetrate her privates.
The alleged offence according to him contravenes Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
“According to the child’s mother, on that fateful day, the defendant brought the child to her from her friend’s place.
“She was bathing her daughter and discovered blood stains on her vagina.
“The defendant told her not to escalate the matter and said he would give her the sum of N20,000,” the prosecutor said.
