In the bid to reduce the rate of unemployment among the youths and assist both state and federal government at the grassroot, a chairmanship aspirant in Abeokuta North Local Government Chairmanship, Hon. Akeem Oluseye has said his administration will create a job centre which will serve as a skill acquisition centre.

According to Oluseye, about 1000 youths would be trained in different skills which will connect them to various opportunities.

He said the place will also serve as data collection centre where graduates can approach to register for job opportunities.

“You will all agree with me that, one kfy the major challenge facing this country (Nigeria) is the issue of unemployment especially among the youths. To tackle this menace, my administration is going to create a job centre where graduates can come forward and register.

“This will enable us have their data. The local government will take it up from there and connect them with job opportunities within the state and beyond.

“I’m also taking it upon myself to make sure those who fall under the unemployment category were trained in different skills. About 1000 of them will benefit our free skill acquisition program. We are going to partner with local and international organisations on this.”
