The Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, HRM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has turbaned Muhammed-Thanni AbdulMuhmin Adedeji as the new Otun Imam of Iwoland.

Oba Akanbi described Adedeji’s appointment as divine and one without constitutional controversy.

BEYOND AFRICA gathered that
the turbaning took place today at Oluwo Palace Central Hall, Iwo, Osun State. The event witnessed the presence of notable Islamic dignitaries led by the Chief of Iwoland, Sheik Abful-Fatai Olododo, The Chairman of Muslim Unity Board (Alaga Isokan Musulumi of Iwoland), Sheik Eedris Fasasi, Wazeer of Yorubaland, Sheik Abdulbaaqi Muhammed Yaqub, Founder of Innayatullahi Groups, Dr. Bilal Asrau, Barrister Taofiq Tewogbade, Alhaji Yaa Allahu, Oluwo Central Mosque in Council, Chief Imams from other communities and other well wishers.

“The appointment of Muhammed-Thanni AbdulMuhmin Adedeji as the Otun Imam of Iwoland is divined. His announcement and subsequent turbaning today followed due process after approval and endorsement by Oluwo. It was a collective decision with utmost fear of God and respect to the guiding constitution of the Mosque”

“I got on this throne as Oluwo on fairness. I’ve been guided by the same principle of fairness in approving any appointment since my enthronement. The same fairness produced Muhammed-Thanni AbdulMuhmin Adedeji as the Otun Imam today”

“I urge the Central Mosque in Council to cooperate with him, tolerate one another and let the fear of God be foremost. Be united to serve God with open mind”

It could be recalled that the immediate past Otun Imam, Sheik Muhammad Ashim Ejalonibu died a few weeks ago. His demise necessitated the appointment of a replacement.
