The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN has commended the achievements of Senator Ademola Adeleke so far as Governor of Osun State.
NYCN in a statement by the Caretaker Chairman, Comrade Mojeed Odeniyi said Adeleke has made significant strides in managing the resources of the state.
Odeniyi was responding to a statement by one Ajala Adetunji, a leader of a group, Coalition of Concerned Nigerian Citizens.
Adetunji had during a press conference on Wednesday challenged Adeleke to declare the amount of allocation coming to the state from FAAC.
But Odeniyi tacked Adetunji, saying no amount of calumny campaign can distract the governor.
The statement reads: “In a statement issued by Comrade Oyeniyi Mojeed, The Caretaker Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun state Chapter, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has made significant strides in managing and optimizing the state’s resources since assuming office.
“His administration’s approach to governance has been marked by a commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable development, which has positively impacted various sectors of the state as against insightful and derogatory accidental press conference granted by one Ajala Adetunji whom is being an indigen of the State was questionable but surprisingly had the temerity under the guise of an arrogated leadership of an unpopular group called coalition of Concerned Nigerian Citizen to fan ember of disinfection between the good people of Osun State and there ever performing governor, His Excellency Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke by making frivolous enquiry on revenue allocation of the State.
“Comrade Oyeniyi noted one of the most notable achievements of Governor Adeleke is his focus on improving the state’s financial management. Upon taking office, he embarked on a rigorous audit of the state’s finances, aiming to identify areas of waste and inefficiency.
“This audit led to the discovery of several financial leakages, which were promptly addressed. By plugging these leakages, the state has been able to redirect funds toward critical areas such as healthcare, education, and critical infrastructure development
“In healthcare, Governor Adeleke has prioritized the revitalization of primary healthcare centers across the state. Recognizing that a healthy population is the bedrock of development, his administration has invested in the renovation and equipping of healthcare facilities, ensuring that they are accessible to all citizens, particularly those in rural areas.
“This has led to an improvement in healthcare delivery and has reduced the burden on tertiary health institutions in the state.
“Education is another sector that has seen considerable improvement under Governor Adeleke’s leadership. His administration has increased funding for education, leading to the rehabilitation of dilapidated school structures and the provision of learning materials.
“Additionally, the governor has initiated programs aimed at improving the quality of education, including teacher training and the introduction of technology in schools. These efforts have not only enhanced the learning environment but have also motivated both students and teachers, leading to better educational outcomes.
“Infrastructure development has also been a key focus of Governor Adeleke’s administration. Recognizing the importance of good roads for economic growth, he has prioritized the construction and rehabilitation of roads across the state.
“This has improved connectivity between rural and urban areas, facilitating the movement of goods and people, and boosting local economies.
“Moreover, his administration has invested in the provision of clean water and electricity, particularly in underserved communities, thereby improving the standard of living for many residents.
“Governor Adeleke’s approach to agriculture has also been commendable. Understanding that agriculture is a major contributor to the state’s economy, his administration has implemented policies aimed at supporting farmers and boosting agricultural productivity.
“These include the provision of subsidized farming inputs, the establishment of agricultural extension services, procurement of new tractors and the promotion of modern farming techniques. These efforts have led to increased agricultural output and have provided a source of livelihood for many residents, thereby reducing poverty in the state.
“Furthermore, Governor Adeleke has shown a commitment to transparency and accountability in the management of the state’s resources. His administration has implemented measures to ensure that public funds are used judiciously and that projects are executed with integrity.
“This has fostered a sense of trust between the government and the people, as citizens can see the tangible benefits of the state’s resources being used for their welfare.
“In conclusion, Governor Ademola Adeleke has demonstrated that with effective leadership, Osun State’s resources is being managed efficiently to bring about sustainable development.
