….. Urge Security Agencies To Intervene
The National Association of Nigerian Students, (NANS), Joint Campus Council, Osun State Axis has warned individuals, who are habe graduated from school, but still parading themselves as students’ leaders to desist.
Osun NANS, during a press conference addressed by its Chairman, Comrade Solomon Ayobami on Monday, urged the individuals to desist, saying such action is detrimental to the organisation’s image.
The chairman urged security agencies in the state to take necessary action against the Impostors.
The text of the press conference reads partly, “We have been made aware that some individuals, some of whom have graduated and are no longer students, are parading themselves as leaders of NANS JCC in Osun.
“These individuals are impostors and should be completely ignored going forward. We urge them to desist from such actions, as they are detrimental to our organization’s image and integrity.
“We will not tolerate any further impersonation. We urge security agencies to take necessary action against these impostors.”
Also, the students’ body highlighted some of their vision to move the Association’s forward in the state.
This, according to them include;
“Students’ Welfare: We will prioritize the effective welfare of all students and commit to their well-being. We shall represent the interests of students across all tertiary institutions in Osun State.
“Student Empowerment: This administration will strive to bring a fresh vision of empowerment for every student in Osun, focusing on serving as a bridge between students and the opportunities they need to succeed. We shall partner with the government, private sector, and civil societies to create tangible opportunities in fields like technology, entrepreneurship, and the arts.
“Transparency and Accountability: This administration shall be committed to fostering a culture of transparency and accountability within NANS/JCC Osun Axis. We shall prioritize open communication and active engagement with all students, ensuring that the voices of the many, not the few, shape the policies and initiatives of the association.
“A Plan for a Stronger NANS: We shall be committed to revitalizing NANS JCC Osun Axis, making it a force to be reckoned with once again. We shall return NANS to its roots as a movement built by students, for students.
“This vision is to create a stronger, more united student body that can advocate for its rights, drive meaningful change, and build a brighter future for all students.
This leadership will restore NANS to its rightful place as a leading voice in student activism.”
They also appreciate Governor Ademola Adeleke, for providing them with an enabling environment that made their convention and emergence possible.
“We acknowledge his unwavering commitment to the growth of education and overall development of Osun State. His efforts in delivering dividends of democracy to Osun people is clear even to the blind to see.
“Our administration shall continue to support the policies and programs of the Adeleke administration. We also commend the dynamic and tireless Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Matters, Comrade Aderoju Bashiru, for his continued support and cooperation that has ensured peace and progress within the students’ community in Osun State.
“Lastly, we must also express our deepest gratitude to the Students Union Presidents from the various schools for their support, we look forward to a robust and continues cooperation till the end of our administration. We also thank all stakeholders and all Nigerian students in Osun state,” the students added.
