Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, has claimed that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, cannot secure electoral victory for President Bola Tinubu in Rivers State in the 2027 general election without manipulation.
Fayose made the assertion in a video posted on his Facebook page on Saturday while reacting to the lingering political crisis in Rivers State.
According to him, neither Wike nor Fubara commands the level of grassroots support needed to win the state for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a free and fair election.
He argued that electoral success in Rivers for Tinubu would depend more on institutions than on political figures, insisting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies, rather than political actors, would determine the outcome.
Fayose further alleged that the ongoing rift between Wike and Fubara was not motivated by the interest of Rivers residents but by a power struggle over control of the state’s resources.
He claimed that Governor Fubara’s alleged accumulation of substantial financial reserves had intensified the conflict between the two camps.
The activist also maintained that the possible participation of the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the 2027 election would further diminish the APC’s chances in Rivers State.
He dismissed recent political tours and consultations by both factions, describing them as cosmetic efforts that lack genuine voter backing.
