Urges Tech Firms To Prioritise Investment In Ogun

The Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Information Technology, Hon. Akeem Oluseye, has called on tech companies across the world to seize the growing opportunities in Ogun State’s rapidly expanding digital and industrial landscape.

Oluseye, in a statement on Monday, described the state as “Nigeria’s emerging Silicon Valley”, stressing that Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration has created one of the most business-friendly environments in the country for investors from across the world to come around, invest and thrive.

The governor’s aide stated that “This is the right time for tech investors to move into Ogun State. Governor Abiodun is building a smart, technology-driven economy where innovation connects with infrastructure.

“Governor Abiodun’s recent investment drive in China had already attracted major tech firms impressed by the state’s reforms and vision.

“With the new Gateway International Airport, the proposed Olokola Deep Seaport, and numerous industries springing up, Ogun State is strategically positioned for global connectivity. Any tech company not investing here is missing out on Africa’s next big tech hub.”

He emphasised that the state under the present administration offers unmatched potential for investors seeking rapid growth, ease of doing business, and access to both local and international markets.

Gov. Abiodun had recently unveiled ‘Window on America’, an ICT project initiated by the American Consulate office in collaboration with GFA Technologies at the Ogun State Tech Hub, Kobape Road, Abeokuta.

He said that the establishment of the American Window at the Ogun State Tech Hub is the product of a visionary public-private partnership involving the state government through the Bureau of Information Technology, the forward-thinking GFA Technologies group, and the US mission.

According to the governor, the initiative is a dynamic and inclusive space created to serve as a bridge between the aspirations of the youths and the global opportunities that await them.

Ogun State, the governor observed, understands the transformative power of digital innovation in driving sustainable economic growth, generating employment, and enhancing the quality of life of the citizenry.

He said, “This understanding is what has led us to make considerable investments in our digital infrastructure, ranging from fibre optic connectivity to digital literacy initiatives and innovation clusters across the state.

“This initiative represents more than a space; it is a platform for knowledge exchange, skills development, and peer-to-peer collaboration between our young minds and their counterparts not just in the United States but in the entire world.

“This is where global ideas and ideals converge with local ambitions.”
