The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has urged residents across the state to remain vigilant and to resist any attempt by individuals allegedly acting on behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to obtain their personal information, particularly their National Identification Number (NIN).
In a statement issued on Monday, the Osun State Chairman of the Accord Party, Pastor Victor Babalola Akande, warned that citizens should treat requests for sensitive personal data from political party agents with suspicion, describing such moves as potentially deceptive and exploitative.
According to Akande, no legitimate political programme, engagement, or membership registration should require individuals to surrender confidential identification details to party representatives. He advised residents to promptly report any such requests to appropriate authorities.
The Accord chairman commended the people of Osun State for what he described as their continued vigilance and resilience, alleging that past political actions by opposition forces were designed to weaken local communities economically. He claimed that the latest development reflects a pattern of political manipulation aimed at exploiting unsuspecting members of the public.
“There is nothing the APC has not thrown at the good people of Osun State to weaken their resolve and undermine their democratic choices,” Akande stated, adding that it was encouraging to see citizens remain steadfast and protective of their dignity and rights.
The party reiterated its commitment to issue-based politics, respect for citizens’ rights, and the protection of personal data. It further called on security agencies and relevant institutions to monitor the situation and take proactive measures against identity-related crimes and political intimidation.

Pastor Victor Babalola Akande
Osun State Accord Chairman
