A robbery incident in Minna, Niger State, has drawn widespread attention after a bank customer reportedly turned the tables on armed robbers during an attack that unfolded shortly after a bank withdrawal.

BEYOND AFRICA gathered that the incident happened on Tuesday around Iya Femi Restaurant in Minna, where a group of suspected robbers allegedly trailed a customer who had earlier visited TAJBank in the area.

According to reports circulating online, the robbers followed the victim from the bank before confronting him near the restaurant while armed with a gun.

Witness accounts suggest the suspects attempted to forcefully collect the money believed to have been withdrawn earlier.

However, the situation reportedly took a dramatic turn during the confrontation. In a video now circulating on social media, the victim was said to have resisted the attack and engaged the robbers in a struggle.

During the chaos, the man allegedly managed to snatch the firearm from one of the attackers.

later, he reportedly used the weapon against the suspect, shooting one of the robbers during the encounter. The unexpected resistance appeared to scatter the group temporarily, but reports indicate that other members of the gang still managed to escape the scene.

Sources claim the fleeing suspects drove away with the victim’s vehicle and a large sum of money believed to be around ₦10 million, although the exact amount has not yet been officially confirmed by authorities.
