The Nigerian Bar Association, Ikirun Branch, has launched a digital portal aimed at enhancing members’ visibility, improving access to legal resources and strengthening connections with clients and legal practitioners globally.
The portal, www.nbaikirunbranch.com, was unveiled by the branch’s 2026–2028 Executive Council led by its Chairman, Abdulkareem Azeez, as part of efforts to modernise the branch’s operations and expand opportunities for its members.
The initiative is expected to provide a central platform for legal practitioners to showcase their areas of expertise, access relevant legal materials and obtain updates on the branch’s activities.
A major feature of the portal is an interactive directory that enables members of the public, law firms and organisations to search for legal practitioners based on their areas of specialisation, including corporate law, property law, criminal litigation, human rights and dispute resolution.
The platform is also designed to improve the global visibility of lawyers in the branch by making it easier for prospective clients, professional partners and colleagues within and outside Nigeria to identify and contact them.
In addition, the portal provides a digital library for legal research and professional development, with access to statutes, legislation, law books, practice guides and scholarly publications. These resources are expected to support members in their legal practice and continuing professional development.
The platform will also serve as a channel for official announcements, meeting notices, minutes and details of branch activities. An integrated events calendar is expected to keep members informed about workshops, webinars and Continuing Legal Education programmes.
Another feature of the portal is a verification facility designed to help members of the public confirm the professional status of lawyers practising in Ikirun and surrounding areas, with a view to promoting public confidence and discouraging unauthorised legal practice.
The launch represents one of the initiatives of the Azeez-led Executive Council, which assumed office with a commitment to modernising the branch, improving access to opportunities for members and promoting a more digitally connected legal profession.
Other members of the executive council are Bola Abimbola Ige, Vice Chairman; A. S. Akinwale, Secretary; Toyin Ajayi, Assistant Secretary; M. O. Akinwande, Treasurer; Esther Odetunde, Financial Secretary; T. B. Ayodele, Publicity Secretary; I. O. Alowolodu, Welfare Secretary; Deji Atoyebi, Legal Adviser; and S. A. Afolabi, Provost.
The branch is expected to leverage the new platform to strengthen communication, improve access to legal information and expand the professional reach of its members.
