The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled Mrs. Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun as its deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 general election in Ogun State.

Mrs. Adegunwa-Balogun was presented alongside the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Olamilekan Adeola Solomon (Yayi), during a ceremony held on Sunday at the APC State Secretariat, Iyana Mortuary, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The unveiling followed the party’s decision to zone the deputy governorship position to Ogun East Senatorial District, with the slot further micro-zoned to Ijebu Ode Federal Constituency, a move party stakeholders say is aimed at ensuring equitable representation across the state.

At 51, Adegunwa-Balogun brings extensive experience in finance, corporate governance, and administration to the APC ticket. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), credentials that have distinguished her in Nigeria’s corporate sector.

She currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Director of Finance and Administration at Rite Foods Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading food and beverage manufacturing companies.

Adegunwa-Balogun is also the daughter of renowned billionaire industrialist and philanthropist, Alhaji Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa, OFR, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s business community.

Party leaders and supporters who attended the unveiling described her emergence as a strategic choice that combines professional competence, administrative experience, and grassroots appeal. They expressed confidence that her selection would strengthen the APC’s chances in the 2027 governorship election.

With the formal presentation of the Adeola/Adegunwa-Balogun ticket, the APC has taken a significant step in its preparations for the 2027 Ogun State governorship race, positioning the duo as its standard-bearers ahead of the polls.
