ANollywood actor, Clinton Joshua Ezenele, has said he avoids kissing scenes in movies to prevent being typecast.

In a recent interview with TVC’s E Splash, Joshua explained that his decision to reject on-screen kisses is intentional.

He said he prefers to take on a wide range of roles rather than being restricted to a particular character type. According to him, actors who become known for certain actions often find it difficult to secure different kinds of roles.

“I don’t kiss in movies because this is Nollywood and when you are doing that (kissing) — I am not trying to brag — producers will likely give me the same role over and over again,” he said.

“I don’t kiss in movies because I don’t want them to put me in a box. I don’t want to kiss half of the girls in Nollywood,” he added.

The actor, known for roles in films such as ‘For Her Sake’ (2026), ‘We Are All Yours’ (2024), and ‘Flavours of the Heart’ (2025), said he is focused on building a versatile career beyond romantic roles.

Joshua is among several actors who have recently shared their views on intimate scenes in films.

Scarlet Gomez earlier said her husband, Temi Gomez, is comfortable with her taking on such roles.

“I am married to a man, not a boy. He does not have a small ego. And he trusts his wife,” she said.

Daniel Etim-Effiong also said he prays before acting in any intimate scene.
