The All-Rights Foundation, TAFAfrica, says it will deploy 150 observers across Osun State for the August 15, 2026, governorship election to monitor and report challenges affecting Persons with Disabilities, PWDs.

This was disclosed by the Programme Manager of TAFAfrica, Dr Andrew Adaji, on Friday during the Able2Vote Community Outreach organised for PWDs in Ife Zone.

According to him, the observers will use an app developed by the foundation to report incidents on election day.

He said the app is available for download on Google Play and also has a web component for public use.

“We are going to deploy 150 observers on the election day. The observers will make use of an app we developed to report any challenges,” Adaji said.

The foundation, which said it was in Osun to sensitise PWDs on the need to participate in the election and protect their votes, also urged them not to sell their votes, describing voting as a right.

“Your vote is your right. You should vote for the person you feel will take care of their needs and their challenges,” he stated.

Adaji said the foundation will meet with the Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Oluwatoyin Babalola, on Monday to present issues encountered by PWDs in previous elections.

The Programme Manager further disclosed that TAFAfrica will support the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, with sign language interpreters in Osun, as it did in Anambra and Ekiti states.

According to him, the foundation has identified polling units with deaf voters and will deploy interpreters to those units on election day.

In his remarks, the PWDs, Ife Zone Coordinator, Alaba Adebusoye, commended TAFAfrica for the training and sensitisation.

He said members of the community have been enlightened on what to do and what not to do on election day.

“We have listened very well, and I will step down the information to those who are not here today. We will ensure that we go out and vote, and we are not going to sell our votes,” Adebusoye said.
