The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ogun State on Information Technology, Hon. Akeem Oluseye, was yesterday installed as the Bashorun of Ika township, Gbagura, Abeokuta.
The title of Bashorun of Ika, Gbagura, Abeokuta, is rooted in the historical and traditional heritage of Ika township, one of the foundational sections of the Gbagura quarter in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Ika is a prominent township within the Gbagura Federation and has produced several notable personalities who have contributed to the development and identity of the community.
The installation ceremony brought together sons and daughters of Gbagura, as well as prominent figures in Ogun State politics and beyond.
It will be recalled that Chief M.K.O. Abiola (GCFR) was one of the most prominent modern figures to hold the title of Bashorun of Egbaland. As a proud son of Gbagura, Abiola became a symbol of Gbagura excellence and identity.
