An Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo on Thursday ordered the remand of two men at the Ilesa Correctional Centre for allegedly assaulting two staff members of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, Mmadukwe Micheal and Jimoh Rashidat.
The suspects were identified as Hassan Adesina, 38, and Isiaka Mukaila, 20.
They were arraigned before the court on a six-count charge bordering on conspiracy, assault and breach of the peace.
According to the charge sheet, the defendants allegedly assaulted Micheal and Rashidat and demanded money realised on behalf of the company.
The alleged offence was committed on October 21, 2026, at the IBEDC office in Oke-Ayepe, Osogbo.
The police said the offences contravened Sections 516, 86(2) and 351 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In his ruling, the presiding magistrate, O.A. Daramola, ordered that the defendants be remanded at the correctional centre.
