The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State reportedly rejected former governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun as a consensus candidate for Ogun Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
BEYOND AFRICA gathered that Amosun, encountered a substantial political setback yesterday following the rejection of his bid to emerge as the consensus candidate for the District by other aspirants.
His rejection according to sources was attributed to his inconsistencies in the APC.
Amosun was accused of working against the APC in two previous general elections in the state by allegedly sponsoring candidates on the platforms of Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) in 2019 and 2023 respectively.
