To begin with, the recent release of the kidnapped victims in Igboho, following the intervention and ultimatum issued by Oloye Sunday Igboho, is one that is highly commendable. This development has further reinforced the urgent need to support community-driven security efforts in addressing the prevailing insecurity challenges in our society.

As the National Security Adviser to the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), I wish to commend Oloye Sunday Igboho for his proactiveness, courage, and commitment to local security architecture. His engagement reflects the critical role that indigenous security initiatives can play in complementing the efforts of formal security agencies.

In view of the foregoing, I respectfully appeal to the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to consider lending his support to the Iru Ekun Local Security Outfit. Such support, within the ambit of law and coordination with relevant authorities, will strengthen their operational capacity and enhance collaboration with conventional security agencies in combating insecurity within affected communities.

Strengthening community-based security structures remains a practical step toward addressing the rising wave of insecurity, our most challenging omen as a nation and it is imperative that all stakeholders work in synergy to ensure the safety of lives and property going forwardm.

As the NSA to the NANS President, I am committed to seeing a country where citizens will go to bed with their two eyes closed.

Thank you.

Signed:

Comr. Alimi Yusuf (General Decimal)
NSA to the NANS President
